HOGA WEATHER & RAIN-OUT POLICY
PLAY CONTINUES UNLESS CONDITIONS REQUIRE A STOP
· Light rain or drizzle: Continue play.
· Moderate or heavy rain: Play may be temporarily suspended if conditions make play impractical. Resume when conditions permit.
· Lightning or dangerous conditions: Stop play immediately and seek shelter.
· The Administrator determines whether play is suspended, resumed, or ended for the day.
OFFICIAL ROUND
A round becomes official when 50% or more of the groups have completed at least 15 holes.
For a shotgun start, 50% or more of the groups must have completed the same minimum number of holes.
Once a round becomes official, it remains official even if weather later prevents the remaining players from finishing.
If play is ended for the day:
· Players may finish a hole already started, if conditions are safe.
· No new hole may be started.
UNFINISHED ROUNDS
If an official round is ended because of weather and a player has completed at least 15 holes but fewer than 18, the player’s HOGA points will be adjusted to an 18-hole equivalent:
Points Earned ÷ Holes Completed × 18 = Adjusted Score
Round the result to the nearest whole point, with .50 rounded up.
Example:
22 points after 17 holes:
22 ÷ 17 × 18 = 23.29 = 23 points
This adjustment applies only when HOGA officially ends play. A player who voluntarily leaves early receives credit only for the holes actually completed.
A hole is considered completed when the player either holes out or reaches HOGA’s maximum score of -1 for the hole and picks up.
MONEY PLAY & REFUNDS
Official Round
· Daily payouts include any authorized adjusted scores.
· Skins are based only on holes actually played. Skins are never projected.
· No entry-fee refunds.
Cancelled Round
· If fewer than 50% of the groups complete 15 holes, the round is cancelled.
· Entry fees are refunded.
· Skins are cancelled and refunded.
Voluntary Early Departure
· No adjusted score.
· No refund.
· A legitimate medical withdrawal before Hole 10 may be considered for a refund at the Administrator’s discretion.
FINAL DECISION
The HOGA Administrator has final authority regarding suspension, resumption, cancellation, and official scoring.
Weather decisions and instructions will be communicated through the Cart Display.
